What is the vision of the church?
Simply, the vision of the church is to live with hope, grow in faith and share God's love. If we as individuals, families and a church can do these three basic things - we will find that we are walking in God's grace and purpose for our lives. We aren't worried about numbers or entertainment we are concerned about being true followers of Jesus and these three challenges keep us oriented toward that goal.
Do I have to be a Baptist to attend?
Of course not. You are welcome if you have a long church background or if you have never been to church in your life. Most of our members do not even have a Baptist background.
Aren't Baptists really stuck on rules and judging other people?
Some, unfortunately, may be. However, we are not in the judging business, God alone is judge. Our role is to reach out in the love of God to all people, no matter what their background is, no matter what they have done - and share the hope that we have found in God with them. When people discover the hope of God, His grace changes them, spiritually and morally. So the Christian life, and our church, is not about keeping rules, but it is about growing in a relationship of grace with Jesus and one another. And doesn't the world need more grace?
Will I be pressured to give a tithe or offering?
Never. A time is set aside in each worship service for those who wish to respond to God with their gifts. We believe this is an act of worship, cheerfully responding to God with all that we are and have with both our gifts and our lives. If God enables and leads you to give, great, if not, that is fine also - it is a matter between you and the Lord.
What other ministries or groups is Hope involved with?
We choose to cooperate with broader groups to further our ministry. Ministries such as Samaritan's Purse, Mission Aviation Fellowship, Open Doors, Simplicity Ministries and others as God leads.
When was the church started?
Easter Sunday 0f 1992.
What Bible version do we use?
We believe there are many good, accurate and readable versions (and a few poor ones). Our pastor preaches from the New International Version but often references other versions. We are most concerned that you find a good version and read it!
